The Capstone project is a culmination of what I learned in my entire time at Oregon State. I was tasked with creating a project that addresses a problem and then finding a creative solution.
As a full time student who enjoys being physically active and eating a balanced diet, the hardest thing for me was getting a good workout and balanced meal in before, after or in-between classes. Many times I found myself running home to grab something quick or reverting to protein bars that would not be substantial enough for a long day of classes and other activities .
When I was presented with this project I came up with the idea of a food truck tailored to those on the go in need of a healthy meal regardless of their dietary needs. Something quick, easy and still tastes good.
Orignial Logo Ideations
I wanted to go in a direction of a classic, 70’s race car stop with the slogan relating back to food being fuel, but that lost the target audience and vision I was striving for.
From there I tested out the classic, “pre workout” logo style, but again was not what I was visioning for the final product.
Finally arrived at the current logo mark after playing with the shapes of both a workout weight ‘plate’ and a dinner plate; ate to create a dynamic, simple and cohesive logo-mark
Store Front:
Though I enjoyed the idea of a”storefront restaurant” I wanted it to be easily accessible
While attending Oregon State, I would make many trips up to Portland for shows, events or to visit friends and family. One thing that stood out to me about PDX, is the wide variety of food truck. A quick, easy and portable way to provide food to a vast majority of people.
The idea for a fitness centered food truck that could be parked outside of gyms popped into my head and from there I knew exactly where I wanted to take FitFuel.
